This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our international team and grow within our company. The role of Project Manager is vital within Comms Multilingual. The main aim is to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the highest possible quality, ensuring that customers are happy and that they will come back to Comms for all their language projects.


Our ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience (ideally 2 or more) working for an LSP as a translation or localisation Project Manager/Coordinator. Candidates with no experience will not be considered.



Responsibilities


  • Management of single language or multilingual projects from receipt of the order from the customer to final delivery
  • Working with CAT tools
  • Liaison with suppliers and clients
  • Editing/Proof-reading of translated texts
  • Some translation as required
  • Preparing files in a variety of formats
  • Production of reference documentation for projects, including glossaries, Translation Memories and Term Bases.
  • Detailed quality checking of all documents, including typeset documents and web pages
  • Working within agreed project deadlines
  • Testing new software (if required)
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required



Requirements


  • Right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship so candidates that require a visa will not be considered)
  • 1-3 full years of experience as Translation Project Manager (ideally 2+)
  • A qualification in Languages, Translation or Linguistics (ideally Master’s degree)
  • Excellent organisational skills and great attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to multi-task across a range of projects
  • Good spoken and written knowledge of one or more languages other than the native language
  • If English is not the first language, excellent command of English. The most interesting languages for us are: Spanish, German, French and Chinese
  • Good written and verbal skills and an excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint
  • Technical skills associated with translation technology (experience with CAT tools, e.g. MemoQ, and SDL Trados)
  • Experience with OCR, business management and other software would be a bonus
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign would be a bonus
  • Knowledge of AI would be a bonus
  • Knowledge of programming/regex would be a bonus
