As the Transport and Logistics planner you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth planning of the loading and the delivery of the products to the client. This involves high levels of organisation and coordinating multiple departments and external providers to deliver a seamless service to our customers.


Roofspace are part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland and are the industry leaders in pre-fabricated roofs and houses


What we’re looking for:

You must be able to think on your feet, be adaptable to an ever changing environment and coordinate multiple departments and suppliers to ensure a smooth service to the client.

  • Strong communication skills to manage interactions with internal and external customers
  • Strong Numeracy and Literacy skills
  • Logistics planning and scheduling experience would be highly advantageous
  • Good administration skills
  • Good geographical knowledge of all regions
  • Ability to work on own initiative, as well as being a team player
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • PC literate – Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced pressured environment


What you will be doing:

The Transport and Logistics coordinator ensures coordinates how and when our products leave the yard and get delivered to our customers. Consideration to production timelines and delays, 3rd party transport and crane availability all needs to balanced to ensure that the service is optimised from a operation and cost perspective and the customer given the highest level of service.


You will be required to:


  • Work with the yard team, operational and the production colleagues to deliver an excellent order and delivery service for customers e.g. on time in full
  • Managing the loading plan and schedules for the day, ensuring that any changes are updated on the plan and schedules as soon as possible
  • Maximise logistics efficiency to ultimately drive down the logistics cost to serve through activity optimisation
  • Ensure all vehicles are dispatched at their agreed times of departure
  • Liaise with the hauliers and the crane companies to resolve any issues/complaints relating to delivery service and timings
  • Responsible for preparing the loading plans for the yard team to ensure that the loading process will be efficient and safe
  • Booking the vehicles for the delivery of the products and booking the cranes for the installation
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on time statistics for the operations
  • Main contact for the haulier and crane companies
  • Participate in stock take duties as required
  • Commitment to continuous improvement to improve efficiency and reduce waste
