As a First Contact Physiotherapist you will:

  • Be an expert MSK clinician within primary care, managing patient needs and utilise relevant services to support GPs.
  • Work within the PCN, integrating as part of the team, and engaging with the wider team.
  • Deliver programs to support patient self-management, facilitate behavioural change, optimise physical activity and mobility, and reduce pharmacological interventions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work across multiple GP Practices within the local area.
  • Track and report on patient appointments to demonstrate value to service commissioners.
  • Ensure comprehensive clinical documentation is accurate and kept up to date.


The ideal First Contact Physiotherapist will have:

  • Active and clear registration with the HCPC
  • Bsc Physiotherapy
  • Have a minimum of 5 years MSK experience
  • Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practice
