Part of global advertising agency group Havas, we have a team of around 100 designers, software engineers, project managers and client services folk, based across the UK and Germany.


Over the past 12 months we have reshaped our New Business approach, with a strategy based on three pillars:

  • Account Based Marketing (ABM) lead generation, supported by a marketing team that delivers ‘conversation’ starter content.
  • Partnership marketing with leading technical platforms and service providers
  • Relationship building with our sister agencies within the Havas CX Network


With this appointment, we are looking to supercharge our execution so we can develop a continuous and stable pipeline of quality well-qualified leads and opportunities.


This is a senior role reporting to our Marketing Director who is responsible for the top of our sales and marketing funnel: including awareness, attraction through to engagement and nurturing through a variety of channels and techniques including thought leadership and events. You will be supported by two Business Development Executives. The role will also help shape the agency value proposition in line with market needs.

Role overview

The role of the Senior Business Development Manager is to create and nurture new business opportunities for Inviqa. You’ll be responsible for developing and managing your own pipeline, targeting medium and large enterprise clients from our target sectors. The role involves qualifying prospects (including inbound leads), developing new business opportunities, nurturing existing prospect relationships, and supporting the closing of business according to mutually agreed targets. Once leads are qualified, you will work in collaboration with the Client Service lead and subject matter experts from across the agency, developing compelling proposals with which to close those deals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Executing our business development strategy (including lead generation, outbound leads, events, etc.) as well as tailoring our value proposition to clients to drive New Logo acquisition.
  • Helping to qualify leads and opportunities managed by our junior BDRs.
  • Personal demand generation and outbound sales activity, seeking out and identifying new qualified opportunities, building a pipeline, and delivering against a sales and in-year revenue target with quality, profitable and sustainable wins.
  • Learn and comprehend the range of Inviqa technical and XD offerings so that you can effectively articulate what we do, how we would engage with a client, and the positive outcomes we can deliver to them and their customers.
  • Utilising your contacts and deep industry expertise to build sustainable business relationships. You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of prospective clients’ businesses, and the industry challenges they are likely to be facing. Developing a point of view on how could work with them to resolve their business issues/challenges.
  • Working in collaboration with strategists, experienced directors and the senior leadership team you will develop ‘sales tools/hooks’ that give prospects a reason to engage and continue the conversation.
  • Support partner marketing – you will develop strong relationships with key technology partners such as BigCommerce, Content Stack, Contentful and Shopify to generate new business and develop joint propositions for targets within designated sectors using tools such as Cross Beam.
  • Event Marketing and Networking – regularly attending relevant events promoting Inviqa, building our profile and following up with potential prospects.
  • Actively engage with and build relationships with relevant Havas sister agencies and/or industry partners, helping to shape joint propositions or identify where a ‘better together’ approach will benefit our clients or prospects.


About you

You are a new business development senior manager with at least 10 years of experience in a business development/sales role either within a digital agency or a relevant software business. You’ll have an excellent understanding of the digital world, specifically within Ecommerce, Content Management Systems, and user experience and design.


You will have a proven track record of selling and winning substantial projects of £500k+ and will have presented pitches to senior board members. You will be tenacious, ambitious and hungry to develop and win new business opportunities. You will keep yourself up to date within a fast changing and competitive marketplace, understanding what is driving prospects' investment decisions. You thrive on developing relationships both short and long term, continually networking and with a relentless desire to build the opportunity pipeline.

Understands the importance of using data and systems to support the business development process, and to measure and report on pipeline activity

A team player who can work alongside subject matter experts from across the agency, knowing when the right time is to bring them to support in the development of proposals or enhance conversations with prospects
