We are looking to recruit a motivated and passionate **Attendance officer** to promote excellent attendance and punctuality whilst **reducing levels of absence and lateness**, this includes working directly with **students and their families** to **promote high levels of attendance and punctuality**.

**You will be expected to**:

- Ensure all registers are completed correctly online.
- Monitor and update the online register throughout the day to ensure the attendance data is as accurate as possible.
- Identify poor attenders and liaising with SLT, Year Managers and form tutors to monitor the student’s attendance to form and lessons.
- Generate weekly reports for key teams, focusing on trends and patterns.
- Promote the latest strategies to improve/maintain attendance, as well as generally promoting good attendance across the school
- through different strategies, such as assemblies, rewards, and letters home.
- Chasing information from student’s previous school to ensure that any existing attendance issues are challenged in a timely manner.
- Work closely with parents to help promote good attendance.
- Carry out home visits, as required and in line with the requirements of the school.

**You must have**:

- GCSE or Equivalent Maths and English, Grade C or above.
- Driving License and access to a vehicle.
- Experience of working with children/ young people (educational setting is desirable - either paid or voluntary).
- Successful experience of working in an administrative role.
- An understanding of legislations relating to school attendance, as well as welfare and protection of children.
- The ability to build and maintain good relationships with students, parents/carers, colleagues, and external agencies such as social workers and the police.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to produce work accurately.
- A commitment to supporting and promoting safeguarding and an understanding of up-to-date safeguarding requirements and best practice.
- An enhanced DBS Certificate registered to the Update Service (or willing to get).
