A Secondary School in Nottingham is looking for a dedicated Attendance Officer to work within their School Office.

Career Teachers are working closely with a fantastic Secondary School located in Nottingham. The school are looking to attain an Attendance Officer to work full time basis
The school, prides themselves on providing a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere to all children and staff members.
Your role will be to monitor the attendance of children at the school, working with parents and other staff to improve levels of attendance at the school.
**Admin experience is essential for this role.**
**Hours**:
You will work Monday - Friday 08:30-14:30
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- To be the first point of contact for attendance issues in the school
- To ensure that accurate attendance information is recorded on the school's MIS daily - including monitoring the completion of daily registers by class teachers, collecting written dinner registers, collating numbers for the school catering team.
- To contact parents by telephone on the first day of unknown absences
- To communicate to parents the school's policy and expectations of pupil attendance
- Support and work with parents to help them to improve their child's attendance
- To ensure all safeguarding procedures are strictly adhered to including checking on whereabouts of pupils with un-notified absences and raise immediate issues with the DSL or deputy
- Carry out home visits, accompanied by another member of staff, to follow up on absences when a satisfactory response is not received by telephone
- Organise and attend review meetings with the Education Welfare Officer (EWO)
- To adhere to the DCC Children Missing Education Policy, and ensure that all procedures are correctly followed for any children missing from school
- Responsible for following the appropriate processes and notifying DCC when any children are removed from roll
- Support the Head Teacher and/or EWO in the delivery of attendance workshops and assemblies for parents/carers
- Run and write reports on current attendance issues, including analysis and evaluation of data and information
- Organise meetings with parents and external agencies in relation to attendance for persistent absentee
- Respond to parent enquiries and those from external agencies in relation to school admissions and attendance at school
- Managing new admissions and starters to the school, including completing the admission forms with parents, inputting new starters onto the school MIS
- Organising the schedule for the new reception children's admissions - including sending out communicative letters to new parents, admission forms and advising of school policies in relation to attendance.
- Contact any parents who's children are due to attend but have not attended or have not responded to letters regarding school places
- Checking for Free School Meal/Pupil Premium eligibility for children and updating systems - assisting the School Business Manager to manage the school holiday free school meal vouchers
- Work collaboratively with the administration team
- Any other administration duties as required
