Job overview We are advertising an exciting opportunity for a Band Nutrition Assistant to join the Surgical Emergency Team.
The Surgical Emergency Unit is a dynamic environment within which a variety of complex surgical patients, from a wide range of specialties, are treated.
The service is provided across acute wards, triage and ambulatory care, at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Main duties of the job The post-holder will have the unique opportunity to work across professional boundaries as a member of the Surgical Emergency Unit and Nutrition and Dietetic teams.
A Band Nutrition Assistant will work autonomously, guided by Therapists, to ensure provision of excellent Dietetic care.
The role involves supporting Nurses, Dietitians and other Healthcare Professionals in the identification of Malnutrition and provision of timely nutritional interventions.
The Dietetics and Surgical Emergency Unit departments are committed to developing quality services for patients.
We offer regular supervision, in-service training and actively promote the personal development of all our team.
Within this role, there will also be the opportunity to develop the wider team's knowledge of nutrition and partake in exciting projects designed to ensure provision of high-quality Dietetic care.
Applicants should have a good general education, a proactive attitude and well-developed interpersonal skills with an enthusiasm for excellent patient care.
