Role Purpose:Responsibility for the recruitment, reviewing, managing progression, learning portfolio management, management, timely achievement of apprentices and learner health, safety and, wellbeing, in compliance with relevant government funding requirements.Role Accountabilities:Promotion of ApprenticeshipsRecruitment of suitable apprentices to meet the requirements of the area business planIncluding and not limited to:Through promotion of the apprenticeship offer, work with existing and new employers to help generate vacancies and sign-up apprentices in line with contract allocations and industry demand.Managing matched and unmatched applicants to employer vacanciesGenerating vacancies via wide ranging stakeholder engagementIncreasing the number of suitable applicants to meet the area vacancies through various engagement opportunities.Recruitment of ApprenticesTo ensure apprentices are signed up in accordance with contractual requirements, including:Pre checks to ensure employer has scope of work to support completion of apprenticeship.Undertake Initial Assessment, sign up and induction of new apprenticesAccurate completion of all sign-up and paperworkWorkplace health and safety pre-placement vettingRetaining ApprenticesTake all possible steps to retain and progress learner on programme to attain the highest level of achievement possible, including:Managing and reporting progressConduct regular quality progress reviewsRegular contact and engagement with college on apprentice progress and report back to ADM / relevant colleaguesAccurate RAG rating of apprenticesAgreed and timely interventions to drive achievementManage and monitor progress of the learners throughout apprenticeship cycle, agreeing corrective action plan where required.Progress learners to the next level of apprenticeship where appropriate and availableMake all appropriate interventions to minimise leaver non-achievers.Timely and accurate submission of paperwork for leavers who leave without achievementRecording of safeguarding incidents and following procedures as per policyIdentify any learning support to monitor at risk learners, engaging with provider support and signposting where appropriate.AchievementMonitor and record milestones towards achievement for all elements of framework or standard and follow through to final certification including:Progress reviews and college achievement tracking (CAR) and portfolio progressSupport each employer with the mentoring of apprentices and monitoring of training progress, barriers and support needs.Provide regular updates to employers around learner progress, relating to all aspects of the programme including elements delivered in the training center.Liaise with trainee, employer and provider where required to support skills test readinessCelebrate success by ensuring learner are nominated for awards and competitionsCustomer ExcellenceCommunicate with employers on wide range of issues including selling benefits of CITB Apprenticeships, progress reviews, agreeing action plans and related support for apprentices, disciplinary, grievance, safeguarding issues and grants issues.Effectively dealing with initial internal and external complaints or escalating where necessary in a timely mannerWhere required, encourage companies to participate in CITB products in addition to apprenticeships.Conduct all dealings with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:Knowledge & ExperienceWorking under publicly funded contracts subject to inspection regimesKnowledge of SafeguardingWorking with, understanding and motivating young peopleSkillsPlanning & SchedulingTime managementWorking to challenging deadlinesMobile workingCommunication skillsWillingness to learn and adaptAbility to self-manage and motivateExcellent and accurate IT skillsMentoring and CoachingEffective use of learner management and customer relationship management systemsEssentialPresentation skills and experience in delivering briefing sessions (essential).Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to Influence, challenge and to manage conflict and difficult situations.
