DWP. Digital with Purpose.

We are looking for an Interaction Designer to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital.

We're using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.

DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work, and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support and empower millions of people.

The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

User focus - Use data from research and analytics to understand user's needs and test designs to meet them.
Evidence and context-based design - Work with others to design solutions that are based on evidence and help identify gaps in knowledge.
Prototyping - Use a variety of prototyping tools and techniques.
Communication - Present your work and share design decisions, explaining ideas in a way that people understand and actively listen to other people's input.
Accessibility - Design with accessibility in mind, showing familiarity with the WCAG 2.1 guidelines and designing to meet AA standards.
Collaboration - Work in the open, engaging others in the design process.

You and your role

As an Interaction Designer you'll be driving innovation, creating new UX/UI designs that are simpler, faster and easier to user, making DWP systems and services accessible to all.

You will make design choices based user data and user research, and create prototypes to test that your designs meet the needs of the end user.

We work in collaborative agile teams. You'll work alongside researchers, developers, product managers, architects and more to deliver services that really work for our users.

You'll also be part of a wider DWP design community where you share solutions and best practice, and access learning and development that helps you be at your best now and in your future career/
