Support Worker for Vulnerable Homeless Women
Location: Marylebone
Salary: £13 - £14 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary, Part Time
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable women? Do you have experience supporting individuals facing complex crises such as domestic violence, mental health issues, human trafficking, and substance misuse?
We are currently seeking an empathetic and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential support to vulnerable homeless women who are experiencing severe crisis situations. This is an excellent opportunity to work with individuals facing multiple challenges, including domestic violence, mental health illness, human trafficking, and situations involving no recourse to public funds. As part of our client's team, you will play a crucial role in supporting women to regain their independence and stability.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide practical and emotional support to homeless women, with a focus on those experiencing domestic violence, substance misuse, mental health challenges, and human trafficking.
Conduct risk assessments and develop individual support plans to meet the specific needs of each woman.
Assist clients in accessing emergency housing, health care, legal support, and other essential services.
Advocate for clients with external agencies, helping them navigate complex systems.
Promote a safe, empowering, and respectful environment where women can rebuild their lives.
Offer crisis intervention and emotional support to those in distress.
Keep accurate records and ensure all actions are in line with client confidentiality and safeguarding protocols.Ideal Candidate:
Experience: Proven experience working with vulnerable individuals, particularly women, who have experienced domestic violence, mental health illnesses, substance misuse, and/or human trafficking.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with individuals in crisis.
Knowledge: Understanding of the challenges faced by homeless women and familiarity with support services for domestic violence, mental health, substance misuse, and related issues.
Empathy: Ability to provide non-judgmental, supportive care in often difficult and challenging situations.
Flexibility: Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of vulnerable service users.If you are passionate about supporting women in crisis and want to make a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you.
