Our ReConnect+ project provides supported accommodation for women leaving prison dealing with substance misuse and with complex needs, many of whom have experienced trauma and abuse in their early lives.
We are currently seeking a ReConnect+ Support Worker to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis working 37.5 hours per week - varied shift.
If you are experienced in working with women involved in the Criminal Justice System (CJS), advocating and meeting the support needs of women, this is your chance to support a groundbreaking project that empowers women.

**The Role**
As a ReConnect+ Support Worker, you will support women with multiple needs on their release from prison.
Specifically, providing specialist person-centred support services, you will create safe, empowering environments for women with needs including substance misuse or mental health issues. You will enable them to develop coping strategies, life skills and the resilience to live independently.
You will support the effective operation of the ReConnect+ project and, alongside colleagues, will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of accommodation. Ensuring we meet our funding requirements, you will contribute to our mission and our business plan objectives.
Additionally, you will:
- Undertake risk assessments
- Plan and deliver group sessions/activities
- Provide advice and advocacy
- Oversee staff rotas
- Support the management of the project
- Keep records and manage data
**About You**
To be considered as a ReConnect+ Support Worker, you will need:
- Experience of working and/or delivering support to women involved in the Criminal Justice System (CJS)
- Experience in meeting the support needs of women and appropriately advocating on behalf of service users
- Experience working with people from different cultural and social backgrounds
- Experience in managing the safety and security of a building
- Experience in working with confidential environments and with personal and professional boundaries
- Experience in creating and facilitating activities with a service user-led approach
- Knowledge of health and safety and Safeguarding legislation/procedures
- Up-to-date knowledge and/or understanding of relevant legislation relating to criminal justice, housing, safeguarding and welfare benefit systems

**Overall Aim**
To provide specialist person centred support services to women with multiple needs i.e., Substance misuse issues and/or mental health issues on release from prison. Creating a safe and empowering environment for women to develop coping strategies, life skills and resilience to live independently.
To ensure the effective operation of Housing for Women ReConnect+ project and be responsible, in conjunction with other worker(s), for the day to day running of the accommodations.
Deliver quality support services for Housing for Women within the standards and contract assessment and monitoring framework set out by the funder.
Contribute to the implementation of the team’s aims and objectives and operational policies and procedures in such a way that they contribute to the mission of Housing for Women and deliver on business plan objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Provision of Support and Advocacy**
- Take responsibility for the effective day to day management and smooth operation of the project.
- Complete star needs assessments; draft, implement and regularly review a trauma informed, person centred, support and action plan to meet the individual needs of women referred to the project.
- Carry out thorough risk assessments in conjunction with the women and any other relevant agencies, implement person centred risk management plan and regular reviews.
- Carry out initial assessments of new referrals.
- Provide effective advice and advocacy services to ensure that women receive their statutory rights in respect of housing, benefits, etc.
- Ensure effective partnership working with other relevant agencies.
