As a specialist-led community dental service, Livewell Southwest CIC provides a unique opportunity for dental therapists to deliver high-quality care to patients across the region. We are seeking an experienced and skilled dental therapist to join our Plymouth Community Dental Service team and contribute to our mission of improving oral health outcomes.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including children and adults with special needs. You will be responsible for providing a full range of treatments under the prescription of dentists, promoting good oral health messaging, and supporting epidemiology surveys for Public Health England.
Your excellent communication and organisational skills, combined with your experience in treating patients using inhalation sedation and your commitment to ongoing professional development, make you an ideal candidate for this role.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver a wide range of dental treatments, following the General Dental Council's Scope of practice for Therapists.
- Liaise with dentists to develop treatment plans that meet the individual needs of patients.
- Promote good oral health practices among patients and contribute to the development of oral health promotions.
- Support the delivery of epidemiology surveys and other related initiatives.
Maintaining a safe working environment is essential, and you will be required to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the policies of Livewell CIC.
Key Qualifications and Skills:- Full GDC registration and a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy or equivalent.
- RA sedation training and experience in treating patients using inhalation sedation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a strong focus on patient management and time management.
An estimated salary of £41,000 - £51,000 per annum reflects the importance of this role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to our organisational success.
