Job Description

Livewell Southwest CIC is seeking a skilled Pharmacist Clinical Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services across various specialties, including general medicine and mental health.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

The primary duties of the job include attending multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, providing clinical pharmacist support and advice to consultants, junior doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of clinical governance agendas and policies. The role also involves reviewing medicines-related protocols and guidelines, implementing changes following local and national drug alerts, and participating in audit work. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to provide training and mentorship to other pharmacists and pharmacy staff, as well as contribute to the development of clinical pharmacy initiatives that improve patient care and access across the system.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have postgraduate experience in hospital pharmacy and possess excellent analytical and judgmental skills, as well as strong communication and organizational abilities. The ideal candidate will be able to apply specialist pharmaceutical knowledge to ensure safe and effective drug use, screen drug charts and discharge summaries, and respond to medicines-related issues in a timely manner. A driving license and good keyboard/computer skills are also essential for this position.
