We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a Clinical Pharmacist for Elderly Care, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy services to patients within the Healthcare of the Elderly and Frailty areas.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a tertiary centre and develop your clinical skills within a well-respected and proactive multidisciplinary team. You will have the chance to utilise your skills as a non-medical prescriber in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, and engage with audit, quality improvement, practice, and other research.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. ">
  2. Provide high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy services to patients within the Healthcare of the Elderly and Frailty areas.">
  3. Act as team leader for the ward-based pharmacy team.">
  4. Undertake teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff and other healthcare employees.">
  5. Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice, demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness.">
  6. Work closely with the lead pharmacist and associate chief pharmacist for clinical services on the strategic development of clinical pharmacy services.">
  7. Develop and manage the delivery of pharmacy services to ensure efficient use of resources and systems including monitoring drug expenditure and delivery of financial savings within Healthcare of the Elderly and Frailty.">

Your Qualifications:

  • ">
  • Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy.">
  • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.">
  • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate.">
  • Non-medical prescriber (or must be willing to undertake this when requested).">

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

Location: Derriford Hospital, Derriford Road, Plymouth, PL6 8DH

Estimated Salary: £62,500 per annum based on experience
