Job Description

This full-time or part-time position involves leading and managing daily care shifts in the home. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring whole team delivery of compassionate and personalized care to individuals who require assistance with their daily living activities.
  • Maintaining independence, enhancing quality of life, and promoting overall well-being among residents.

A minimum of NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care, or working towards, is required. Experience as a senior caregiver is preferred. Additionally, understanding of the Care Quality Commissions Key Line of Enquiries and administration skills, including computer literacy, are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing care plans to ensure they accurately reflect the changing needs of service users.
  • Taking responsibility for allocations and the smooth running of shifts.
  • Ordering, signing in, and signing out drugs according to medication policy.
  • Ensuring regular observations are completed on the care floor to ensure effective teamwork among staff.
  • Reviewing care plans and completing individual senior tasks.
  • Carrying out care staff supervisions as requested.
  • Delegating tasks to team members based on competence and training.
  • Monitoring personal care requirements and presentation of service users.
  • Ensuring the telephone is answered in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring team performance and practice.
  • Reviewing and amending care plans, updating risk assessments, and ensuring communication books are updated and handed over to the next shift.

Flexibility is essential, with a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and overnight shifts, as required by the organization or individual clients' needs.
