About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Autism Specialist Practitioner to join our team at Livewell Southwest. This is a clinic-based community post based within the multi-disciplinary team of Plymouth Autism Spectrum Service (PASS) which is part of Livewell Southwest.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specialist, bespoke training to mental health, physical health and Adult social care staff, providing specialist knowledge of the needs of people with Autism. The post-holder will also be a NMC/HCPC registered practitioner, providing specialist assessment for adults who suspect they are Autistic.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deliver specialist training to improve understanding and awareness of Autism among healthcare professionals and staff in Adult Social Care.
  2. Provide expert assessment and diagnosis for adults suspected of having Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  3. Work collaboratively with the clinical lead and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement effective assessment and support strategies for individuals with ASC.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Autism and its impact on individuals and their families. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, service users and their families.

Requirements
  • Professional registration with the NMC or HCPC as a qualified practitioner.
  • Experience of working with individuals with Autism and their families.
  • Strong understanding of Autism and its impact on individuals and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The salary for this role is £43,000 - £51,000 per annum, depending on experience.
