Weight Management Specialist Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Weight Management Specialist Practitioner to join our team at Livewell Southwest. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing specialist care and support to patients with morbid obesity and co-morbidities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide specialist assessment and management of patients referred to the Weight Management service from primary and secondary care.
- Undertake all aspects of clinical practice as an autonomous practitioner, including managing clinical risk within own caseload.
- Participate in service audit to assess the effectiveness of the service and contribute to evidence-based audit and research projects.
- Provide support to other multidisciplinary members of the Weight Management team as required.

Responsibilities
- Act as a role model for all staff and students, demonstrating clinical skills and high standards of practice and professional conduct.
- Participate in team activities to develop and consolidate a cohesive and supportive team, ensuring openness within the team.
- Assist with the supervision and coordination of junior staff in the absence of the service lead.
- Ensure that own practice and that of junior staff in the absence of the service lead meet the standards set for the service.
Requirements
- Highly skilled and experienced practitioner with a strong background in weight management and bariatric care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex clinical cases.
Working Arrangements
The post is based at the Cumberland Centre, with a hybrid working pattern and regular evening work required. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly and be able to respond to the needs of the service effectively.
