Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teacher to join our team at a pupil referral unit in Stoke. As a SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching multiple core subjects to students aged 11-16 who require additional support due to social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach multiple core subjects to students aged 11-16
  • Work closely with students to develop their academic and personal skills
  • Plan and mark work for lessons
  • Familiarize yourself with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and incorporate them into your teaching
  • Collaborate with support staff to provide a comprehensive learning experience

Requirements:

  • Teaching qualification and/or extensive teaching experience
  • Flexibility in teaching style to cater to individual student needs
  • Previous experience teaching secondary-aged pupils in a school environment
  • Experience working with young people displaying challenging behavior
  • Team Teach qualification or equivalent, or a willingness to undertake this training
