Job Description

This Behaviour Support role is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a large Primary School in Stoke-on-Trent.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing challenging behaviour and implementing effective strategies to enhance students' learning experiences in the classroom. This requires a comprehensive understanding of SEMH and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as the ability to tailor support to meet the individual needs of each student.

Your Role

As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will work closely with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs. You will be responsible for implementing behaviour management strategies, developing individualised plans, and working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced professional who can demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Knowledge of SEMH and SEND principles
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour and developing behaviour management strategies
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
