Role Overview

A Supportive Learning Assistant is sought to join Academics Ltd, a reputable education provider, on a supply basis. This opportunity involves supporting students across a primary school setting, fostering a nurturing environment that enables all pupils to thrive.

About the Role
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, adapting to their individual requirements.
  • Work flexibly across different year groups, building positive relationships with staff and students.
  • Assist in developing pupils' social, emotional, and academic progress.
  • Promote a calm and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENDCo, and parents to ensure cohesive support.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement strategies to support SEMH pupils, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  2. Build strong relationships with staff and students, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
  3. Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to provide comprehensive support for SEMH pupils.
  4. Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, tracking achievements and areas for improvement.
  5. Contribute to the development of a supportive and inclusive school community.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification, such as a Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to providing high-quality support to SEMH pupils.
