Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our team at a pupil referral unit in Stoke. As a SEMH teacher, you will be responsible for teaching multiple core subjects to students aged 11-16 who require additional support due to social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach core subjects to students with SEMH needs
- Develop and implement lesson plans to cater to individual student needs
- Work closely with support staff to provide a comprehensive learning experience
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources
- Support students in achieving their academic and personal goals
Requirements:
- Teaching qualification and/or extensive teaching experience
- Flexibility in teaching style to cater to individual student needs
- Previous experience teaching secondary-aged pupils in a school environment
- Experience working with young people displaying challenging behavior
- Team Teach qualification or equivalent, or a willingness to undertake this training
