Position Title: Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager

Location: Glasgow

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager for a prominent client in the maritime sector. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring the efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible operation of the company's fleet, with a focus on managing all Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation (EIA), and Navigation Communication (Navcom) aspects.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Prioritizing safety and environmental regulations in all operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Company Management System, HSEQ, and Maintenance Philosophy Policies regarding EIA and Navcom.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for operational EIA matters, representing the organization at industry conferences.
  • Conducting research and developing relevant programs for fleet application, while assessing and recommending updates to existing policies.
  • Monitoring regulatory compliance and advising on legislative changes.
  • Reviewing and overseeing electrical, instrumentation, automation, and Navcom maintenance plans.
  • Participating in HSEQ meetings, providing insights, and approving incident resolutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Engineering Change Management process for EIA systems.
  • Offering support and guidance on management systems, strategic initiatives, and software tools.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for Vessel Managers regarding EIA issues, providing troubleshooting and operational assistance.
  • Managing and supporting projects, including CAPEX modifications and monitoring their execution.
  • Assisting with technical interviews and training for sea-staff.
  • Analyzing operational reports to identify trends in equipment performance and maintenance needs, preparing summaries, and recommending improvements.
  • Developing tailored strategies and best practices for EIA systems on vessels.
  • Overseeing significant EIA projects, including repairs and investigations.
  • Contributing to new build specifications and evaluating EIA & Navcom equipment.
  • Creating design criteria for EIA systems.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A recognized qualification in electrical engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Experience within the maritime industry.
  • Familiarity with technical operations and industry regulations.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to effectively address customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with LNG or NGL vessels in a supervisory capacity is advantageous.
