Position: Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager

Overview:
We are conducting a search for a highly skilled Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager on behalf of a leading organization in the maritime sector. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring the secure, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the company’s fleet, with a focus on expertly managing all Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation (EIA), and Navigation Communication (Navcom) matters.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Manager, your duties will include:

  • Prioritizing safety and environmental regulations in all operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Company Management System, HSEQ, and Maintenance Philosophy Policies for all EIA and Navcom activities.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for operational EIA matters related to LNG and/or NGL, representing the organization at industry conferences and seminars.
  • Conducting research and implementing relevant programs for fleet use, while reviewing and suggesting modifications to existing policy documents.
  • Monitoring and advising on changes to regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Reviewing electrical, instrumentation, automation, and Navcom work plans to ensure adherence to maintenance and repair strategies.
  • Participating in HSEQ meetings, providing insights on relevant areas, and approving incident resolutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Engineering Change Management process for EIA systems.
  • Offering support and guidance on the management system, strategic initiatives, and software applications.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for the Vessel Manager/Ship Team regarding EIA issues, providing troubleshooting and operational assistance.
  • Developing and overseeing assigned projects, assisting with CAPEX modifications/upgrades, and monitoring their execution.
  • Supporting Marine HR with technical interviews for ETO positions, as well as briefing and training new and existing sea staff.
  • Analyzing operational reports to identify trends in equipment failures, maintenance backlogs, and incidents, preparing summary reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Creating fleet-specific strategies and best practices for the operation of EIA systems onboard.
  • Managing assigned EIA projects, including significant repairs, investigations, and meetings.
  • Contributing to new building and project specification reviews, selecting and evaluating EIA & Navcom manufacturers and equipment, and researching new technologies for vessel upgrades.
  • Establishing design criteria for EIA systems.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A recognized qualification in electrical engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Experience within the maritime industry.
  • Familiarity with technical operations and current industry regulations.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • A proactive approach to addressing customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with LNG or NGL vessels in a seafaring or supervisory capacity is advantageous.
