Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Technologist to join our team of specialists in Radiotherapy Technology Services (RTS) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with clinical and scientific staff, providing technical support for complex radiotherapy problems and developing techniques to improve oncology services for patient benefit.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage medical devices, including installation, maintenance, calibration, diagnosis, repair, modification, and upgrade of radiotherapy equipment.
  • Provide technical support and advice to radiotherapy managers and users.
  • Aware of safety and reliability aspects of medical devices and take action to deal with discrepancies.
  • Carry out risk analysis and risk management as part of medical device management.
  • Communicate complex technical information to various staff groups and external personnel.

Requirements:

Professional registration as a clinical technologist, healthcare scientist, or healthcare science practitioner is required. Unregistered technicians may be appointed to a lower grade until relevant qualifications, experience, and registration have been achieved.
