About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Clinical Engineering Professional to join our Radiotherapy Technology Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the safe and effective repair and maintenance of medical equipment, including linear accelerators, CT simulators, and other complex devices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and device design, with experience working in a medical environment. They should also possess excellent communication skills and be able to convey complex technical information to non-technical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in comprehensive radiotherapy technology support, including installation, fault diagnosis, repair, maintenance, calibration, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary project teams to develop ideas and provide technical advice in the creation and implementation of novel designs to improve the safety and efficacy of patient treatment.
  • Produce custom-made specialist treatment appliances and manufacture other medical and non-medical devices.
  • Safely use lifting equipment to precisely locate very heavy objects.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Engineering or Healthcare Science or Clinical Technology (Engineering), or equivalent level of knowledge and qualification.
  • Professional registration as Clinical Technologist (RCT or AHCS), or qualifications to enable registration as a Clinical Technologist with RCT following a suitable training programme.
  • Attendance and successful completion of manufacturer-provided radiotherapy equipment training courses.

Salary

£40,000 - £50,000 per annum.
