We are seeking a highly skilled Radiotherapy Physicist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the development and delivery of clinical services in radiotherapy physics.
About UsLeeds Teaching Hospitals is one of the largest and busiest acute hospital trusts in the UK, providing high-quality care to patients from across the region. Our radiotherapy service treats over 7500 new patients per annum, using the latest technology to deliver cutting-edge treatments.
Role and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will provide medical physics scientific support in a range of areas related to the day-to-day running of radiotherapy and brachytherapy. Key responsibilities include:
- Treatment Planning: To be part of the team providing external beam treatment planning service to radiotherapy
- Equipment and Treatment Dosimetry and QA: To carry out routine daily calibrations of radiotherapy treatment machines
- Clinical Service Development: To assist in developing and implementing new and improved techniques, functional imaging, 4DCT, IMRT, VMAT, IGRT and SABR
The post-holder will work alongside other users of clinical technology and radiotherapy dosimetry data, including clinical service managers, clinicians, clinical scientists, radiotherapy physicists, clinical technologists and radiographers. They will also liaise with senior clinicians, senior clinical scientists and other users of the technology to ensure that their work is consistent with clinical and technical requirements.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a good honours degree in a relevant subject, MSc or equivalent in radiotherapy physics, state registration as a Clinical Scientist, or working to achieve registration within 12 months of recruitment. They will also have appropriate post-grad training within structured programme including radiotherapy physics and/or imaging for radiotherapy.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including annual leave, pension scheme and opportunities for professional development.
