Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our East Sussex CAMHS Team as a Band 7 CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health assessments and treatment to children and families experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
Main Responsibilities- Contribute to the day-to-day leadership of the clinical team, providing a high-quality service within the resources available in a defined area.
- Offer specialist mental health assessments to young people, including care and safety planning, risk assessment and management, and facilitating safe discharge.
- Liaise with other agencies and professionals to develop ongoing positive working relationships and support young people who present in crisis.
- Degree/Diploma in occupational therapy or Nursing/Social Work or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
- Registration with HCPC/NMC/Social Work England.
- Training in the use of standardised assessment tools.
- Broad experience of working with clients with a range of mental health problems.
- Experience in leadership, including leading on a project.
- Experience of multidisciplinary working.
- Experience of supervising staff and students.
- Experience as a Lead Practitioner.
- CAMHS experience.
- Experience of multi-agency work.
- Able to communicate complex information to service users, carers, and colleagues.
- Develop partnership working with individuals, groups, communities, and agencies.
- Demonstrate support for the values and beliefs of the Care Group and those of the Trust.
- Punctual and flexible across hours of work when required.
- Evidence of post-qualification study.
- Experience in applying a range of assessment tools and a comprehensive knowledge of clinical approaches.
- Lived experience of mental health issues.
- Evidence-based therapeutic intervention skills or willingness to undertake training.
We offer a competitive salary of £43,742 to £50,056 a year pro rata for part-time, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions). We also offer a range of benefits, including a pension scheme and opportunities for professional development.
