About the Role
The East Sussex CAMHS Duty and Liaison Service is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team on a part-time basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our Urgent Health Care service, providing vital support to young people experiencing mental health crises.
As a CAMHS Duty and Liaison Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assessing, supporting, and coordinating care for young people facing urgent mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with young people, their families, and other professionals to develop safe and effective care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to referrals from various sources, prioritizing cases based on urgency.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of young people experiencing mental health crises, including risk assessment and safety planning.
- Provide therapeutic interventions and crisis care management to support young people in need.
- Collaborate with tier 3 CAMHS teams to ensure seamless transitions for young people awaiting services.
- Work closely with acute hospital staff, providing mental health support to patients requiring inpatient care.
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Practitioner with a passion for working with young people. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A professional qualification in health or social care, such as RMN, OT, NURSE, SOCIAL WORKER, with post-graduate training relevant to child and adolescent mental health.
- Significant post-qualification experience working with young people experiencing mental health challenges.
- Proven expertise in risk assessment, suicide prevention, and self-harm management.
- Experience with CPA (Care Programme Approach) and clinical governance principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and families.
