Waking Night Support Worker - Children's Solo Home
">We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to join our team in providing bespoke care for vulnerable children and young people in the Northeast of England.
As an OFSTED-rated 'Good' service provider, we are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this dedication.
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of young people in a safe and caring environment, acting as a positive role model, and working closely with them to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
Role and Responsibilities- Support and Care Tasks: The support worker will assist the child/young person with evening activities, personal care routines, medication, food preparation, and other tasks.
- Maintain the child's health, personal, emotional well-being, and safety throughout the night.
- Keep accurate and thorough records of daily events.
- Complete household chores during the night to ensure a clean and comfortable living space.
- Support day staff with preparations throughout the night to ensure a smooth transition.
- Provide thorough handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Report any concerns regarding changes in a child/young person's health, behavior, or safeguarding issues.
- A strong understanding and experience in record-keeping is essential.
- Excellent communication skills are required to effectively work with children, young people, and colleagues.
- Able to take direction and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A Level 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care (children) or equivalent is preferred, with a goal of completing a Level 4 Diploma in Children and Young People.
- At least 12 months of experience working in a children's residential setting is necessary.
- A UK Driving License and access to a personal vehicle are also required.
