We are seeking an experienced Child Support Specialist to join our Enhanced Family Help Team in Norfolk. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with families, social workers, and other professionals to provide targeted support and interventions that promote safety, well-being, and positive relationships within the family unit.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in providing services for children and their families, a good understanding of child development from birth to age 19, and factors contributing to neglect. You will be confident in delivering one-to-one interventions at home or in the community, as well as working with children, young people, and parents/caregivers.

A competitive salary of £25,584 - £27,269 per annum (Grade E) awaits the successful candidate. Our generous benefits package includes flexible working opportunities, health and wellbeing services, and a local government pension scheme with employer contribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted interventions to support families in need, promoting safety, well-being, and positive relationships
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, family practitioners, and other professionals to develop and implement effective support plans
  • Provide guidance and advice to families on parenting strategies, emotional support, and access to community resources
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring timely communication with colleagues and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in providing services for children and their families
  • Good understanding of child development from birth to age 19 and factors contributing to neglect
  • Ability to deliver one-to-one interventions at home or in the community
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
