Customer Service Team Leader

Guidant Global is seeking an experienced Customer Service Team Leader to join the Customer Services Team at Brighton & Hove City Council. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring team members to deliver outstanding service to customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the customer service team, fostering a positive and united team spirit.
  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve their full potential, aligning with their Personal Development Plans.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to discuss performance, goals, and challenges.
  • Prepare the team and services for change, particularly during times of difficulty, and lead the team through change.
  • Motivate the team to ensure all members are engaged and performing effectively.

This is a fully on-site role with no at-home working, requiring you to split your time between two Customer Service Centres to meet business needs.

Requirements:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in line managing staff, prioritizing workloads, and practicing time management.
  • Excellent customer service skills, as you will be the first point of contact for customers.
  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior managers, stakeholders, and other staff.
  • Experience of dealing with difficult customers in a customer service environment.
  • Experience working in a local authority environment providing customer services (desirable).
