Palliative Care Specialist Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Palliative Care Specialist Nurse to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work as a clinical nurse specialist, assessing and managing patients with complex palliative care needs. With significant experience in specialist palliative care or caring for palliative care patients, you will be able to develop effective interpersonal relationships with a diverse range of professionals and laypeople.
About the Role
As a Palliative Care Specialist Nurse, you will provide specialist clinical leadership in the assessment of complex symptom and psychological problems. You will also empower and equip healthcare professionals with skills and knowledge to deal with a variety of less complex problems through education and being an available resource. We offer a supportive environment where you can deliver objectives within a given timeframe. Our team has been evaluated positively as a cohesive unit within our most recent staff survey results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work effectively as an autonomous practitioner within the countywide multidisciplinary palliative care team, promoting and maintaining quality of life for patients with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses requiring specialist palliative care and into bereavement for relatives and carers.
2. Provide specialist clinical leadership in the assessment of complex symptom and psychological problems, offering support, advice, and leadership to healthcare professionals in line with national and local guidelines, ensuring a cohesive, holistic, and evidence-based approach to the management of palliative patients.
3. Empower and equip healthcare professionals with skills and knowledge to deal with a variety of less complex problems through education and being an available resource.

Salary
£43,041 - £70,305 per annum (dependent on experience)
