Senior Technician Application Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician Application Support to join our team at EMW, Inc.
Job Summary:The Senior Technician Application Support will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for various command and control information systems in support of Maritime Command HQ (MARCOM) and NATO flagships.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support for Flagship handovers, including deployment to geographical locations and working in small confined spaces.
- Install, configure, and set-to-work servers on board NATO flagships.
- Perform day-to-day system administration of hardware and software for supported systems.
- Execute preventive maintenance plans and ensure technical documentation is up-to-date.
- Provide technical guidance and lead troubleshooting efforts for assigned systems.
- Assist with system fault resolution and provide technical advice to other staff.
- Perform beta testing of new system software and provide feedback.
- Maintain liaison with other technicians and engineers.
- Stay abreast of technological developments relevant to the area of work.
- Currently active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET security clearance.
- Higher vocational training or secondary educational qualification with relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in administering, testing, and deploying applications at both server and user levels.
- Experience with functional applications within Windows and UNIX in a large-scale service-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of database principles, database administration, and SQL.
- Experience in Incident and Problem Management.
- Experience of working within a customer support environment.
- Maritime C2 Systems training or experience working with Maritime C2 Systems.
- Good general working knowledge of IT hardware and auxiliary computer equipment.
- Experience of Configuration Management and Service Asset Management.
- Knowledge of current Windows and UNIX/LINUX operating systems and common Windows desktop applications.
- Prior experience working in an international environment.
- Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organisation.
- ITIL Foundation knowledge or ITIL certificate.
- Knowledge of mainstream ICT.
