Key Responsibilities
The Junior Pharmacy Technician will engage in the preparation and dispensing of medications for both in-patients and out-patients, along with other pharmaceutical responsibilities related to clinical trials. You will perform final checks in line with our accreditation standards once certified by the approved external scheme.
Your duties will include:
- Participating in all dispensary operations as directed by the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician.
- Maintaining and tracking a list of active trial patients to ensure timely processing of orders and prescriptions.
- Managing the ordering and receipt of clinical trial supplies, ensuring compliance with GCP and local protocols.
- Providing guidance and information to patients and caregivers collecting their medications, including details on prescription payments and further supplies.

Job Responsibilities
We are eager to expand our team at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre as we embark on an exciting new chapter.

In addition, you will be eligible for a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, with a minimum payment of £4,314 and a maximum of £5,436.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Completion of NVQ2 or Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant apprenticeship or currently enrolled in Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Pharmacy Services.
- A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above, including English, Maths, and Science.
- Commitment to pursue a Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice.
Desirable:
- Completion of NVQ3 or BTEC Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
- Registration with the GPhC or final year Trainee Pharmacy Technician awaiting registration.
- Completion of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
Skills and Knowledge
