About the Job

Teaching Personnel seeks a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team at a primary school near Launceston as a temporary to permanent Early Years Teaching Assistant. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a strong understanding of the Early Years Framework and EYFS.

The successful candidate will assist the Pre-School/Nursery Manager in planning and delivering engaging activities, monitoring children's progress, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learning Support: Work closely with the Pre-School Manager to develop individualised support plans for children.
  • Activity Organisation: Assist in preparing and delivering activities that cater to children's diverse needs and interests.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and document children's progress through regular observations, providing feedback to the Pre-School Manager and parents.
  • Environmental Design: Collaborate with the Pre-School Manager to create an engaging and well-organised learning space that promotes children's curiosity and creativity.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with young children or in early years settings
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Framework and EYFS
  • Patient and nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, staff, and parents
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to complete a new check
  • NVQ Level 3 or CACHE Level 2 Early Years Qualification
