About the Role

We have a vacancy for an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school located just outside Launceston. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Pre-School/Nursery Manager in caring for and assisting with activities for early years children.

The ideal candidate will have experience in early years settings or working with young children, a strong understanding of the Early Years Framework, and excellent communication skills. They will also need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Duties:
  • Support children's learning and development across all areas, under the direction of the Pre-School Manager
  • Assist with planning, evaluating, and delivering learning activities in line with the Early Years Framework and Development Matters in EYFS
  • Monitor and document children's progress through observations, providing feedback to the Pre-School Manager and parents
  • Support children with specific learning difficulties, ensuring they can fully access the EYFS curriculum
Requirements:
  • Valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to complete a new DBS check
  • Hold a valid Early Years Qualification - NVQ Level 3 or CACHE Level 2
  • Experience in early years settings or working with young children

The salary for this role is £22,070 per annum, based on 30 hours per week. We offer a temp-to-perm contract, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position at the end of the contract.
