Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Term Time: 38 weeks (Support Staff Only)

About the Position

Teaching Personnel invites applications from experienced professionals to fill the role of Early Years Teaching Assistant at a primary school located near Launceston. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the care and development of early years children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively with the Pre-School/Nursery Manager to plan and deliver high-quality educational activities, monitor children's progress, and foster a positive learning environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Support: Assist in planning and delivering activities aligned with the Early Years Framework and EYFS curriculum.
  • Childcare and Supervision: Provide individualised support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Documentation and Progress Tracking: Maintain accurate records of children's progress, providing feedback to the Pre-School Manager and parents.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Foster effective relationships with colleagues, children, and parents to ensure a harmonious and productive learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in early years settings or with young children
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Framework and EYFS
  • Patient and nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, staff, and parents
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to complete a new check
  • NVQ Level 3 or CACHE Level 2 Early Years Qualification
