About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Homeless Support Specialist to join our team in Newport. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients facing various challenges, including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, and trauma.

Job Summary

This is a full-time temporary role, working 37.5 hours per week. The hourly salary is £13.50-£15.20, inclusive of holiday pay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Empower clients by providing tailored support to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
  • Build relationships with clients and local agencies to create a supportive network.
  • Work autonomously, managing your own caseload and schedule, both remotely and in the community.
  • Develop your skills in areas like trauma-informed care, substance misuse, and housing law.
Requirements
  • Empathy and understanding: A genuine desire to help others and a non-judgmental approach.
  • Resilience and adaptability: The ability to navigate challenges and find creative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills: The capacity to build rapport and work effectively with diverse individuals.
  • A can-do attitude: A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Relevant experience: Previous experience in support work or housing is preferred.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car.
