We are seeking a dedicated Homeless Support Specialist to join our team in Newport. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients facing various challenges, including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, and trauma.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time temporary role, working 37.5 hours per week. The hourly salary is £13.50-£15.20, inclusive of holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities- Empower clients by providing tailored support to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
- Build relationships with clients and local agencies to create a supportive network.
- Work autonomously, managing your own caseload and schedule, both remotely and in the community.
- Develop your skills in areas like trauma-informed care, substance misuse, and housing law.
- Empathy and understanding: A genuine desire to help others and a non-judgmental approach.
- Resilience and adaptability: The ability to navigate challenges and find creative solutions.
- Strong communication skills: The capacity to build rapport and work effectively with diverse individuals.
- A can-do attitude: A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Relevant experience: Previous experience in support work or housing is preferred.
