About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Physiotherapist to join our team as a Functional Assessor. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced healthcare professional to utilise their skills in a new and challenging role.

As a Functional Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of individuals who have been referred to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) due to their health conditions or disabilities. You will use your clinical expertise to assess how these conditions impact an individual's ability to work and make recommendations for their benefits eligibility.

The role involves meeting with clients face-to-face and via telephone/video calls. You will need to be sensitive, compassionate, and able to ask relevant questions while maintaining best practice standards.

You will have the time and resources needed to conduct thorough assessments, producing accurate and concise reports for the DWP. You will be part of a wider multidisciplinary team, working independently but with support from colleagues and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals referred to the DWP
  • Use clinical expertise to assess the impact of health conditions on work ability
  • Produce accurate and concise reports for the DWP
  • Work independently but as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain best practice standards and uphold confidentiality

Requirements:

  • HCPC Registered Physiotherapist with at least 12 months post-registration experience
  • Experience in functional assessment and clinical decision-making is desirable
  • Continuous Professional Development and up-to-date knowledge of clinical governance principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
