As a Functional Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing individuals and how their disabilities or conditions affect their work life. Drawing on your clinical expertise, you will listen carefully to each person's medical history before performing a physical examination. Your task will be to produce concise, accurate reports for the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP), enabling them to decide each person's eligibility for benefits.

This role involves meeting people both face-to-face and via telephone/video. But whether you connect online or in person, you will be sensitive, compassionate, and able to ask the right questions while upholding best practice standards.

About the Position

Recent broad-based experience is essential, and experience in functional assessment and clinical decision-making would be advantageous. You must also have Continuous Professional Development (CPD) present on your CV and be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

A sound understanding of clinical governance and customer service levels is required, as well as great oral and written communication skills.
