Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated medical secretary to join our transformation unit in Liverpool. This role will involve providing administrative support to our palliative care and acute oncology teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in secretarial work, with experience in managing workload effectively and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.

The salary for this position is estimated at £27,185 per annum, based on the national average salary for medical secretaries in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and process referrals, audio transcription of medical discharge summaries, and preparation of meetings
  • Diary management, arrange appointments, and arrange travel and accommodation
  • Type dictation from audio transcription of clinical correspondence and documentation
  • Deal with enquiries either on the telephone or face to face from patients, consultants, junior doctors, and colleagues
Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE/O Level standard/equivalent or higher
  • RSA/OCR Typing/Word Processing Level III or equivalent
  • Secretarial qualification or equivalent experience
  • ECDL or equivalent
  • Shorthand
