In this role, you will provide administrative support to the Palliative Care team, working closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the service.

Main Duties:
  1. To provide comprehensive support to consultants and specialty teams.
  2. Diary management, arranging appointments and travel arrangements.
  3. Supporting consultants in non-clinical activities by preparing presentation documents and arranging meetings.

You will work independently to use initiative, judgment, and tact to deal with queries and resolve situations, handling enquiries from patients, consultants, junior doctors, and colleagues in a professional manner. You should be able to type 40 words per minute or faster and have experience working in an NHS office environment as a medical secretary.

Requirements:
  • Educated to GCSE/O Level standard or higher.
  • RSA/OCR Typing/Word Processing Level III or equivalent.
  • Secretarial qualification or equivalent experience.
  • ECDL or equivalent.

The salary for this position is £26,530 - £29,114 per annum, depending on experience.
