About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Adult Care Skills Assessor to join our team at Pearson. As an experienced leader, you will be responsible for assessing the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour (KSBs) of apprentices in the Leader in Adult Care - Level 5 role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement assessment plans, ensuring high-quality evaluation and feedback.
  • Conduct regular training and standardisation activities to maintain and improve assessment skills.
  • Evaluate candidate performance according to published criteria and procedures, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Develop and maintain assessment materials, resources, and tools to support high-quality evaluation.
  • Maintain service-level agreements and report any risks to Pearson's management team, ensuring prompt resolution and action.
  • Support Pearson with appeals regarding assessment decisions, providing clear explanations and justifications.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Pearson's end-point assessment activities, identifying areas for growth and development.
  • Participate in external quality assurance activities undertaken by Tech Partnership to demonstrate expertise and credibility.

Role Requirements:

  • Hold current occupational competence within the workplace for at least 3 years, demonstrating relevant experience and skills.
  • Have knowledge of the Adult Care sector, including current legislation and regulation, to provide informed assessments.
  • Hold a qualified qualification at or above Level 5, showcasing your expertise and ability to assess complex KSBs.
  • Possess a formal assessor qualification (A1, TAQA), ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Experience leading meetings, structured interviews, and discussions to effectively evaluate candidates.
  • Experience complying with quality assurance and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards and adherence to protocol.
  • Show evidence of commitment to CPD, in line with new apprenticeship requirements, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possess an IQA award (desirable), demonstrating expertise in internal quality assurance.
  • Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with candidates and stakeholders.
  • Have knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the associated apprenticeship standard and assessment plan, providing informed assessments and evaluations.
  • Able to assess free from bias and meet deadlines, ensuring timely and fair evaluations.

Personal Requirements:

  • Own personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson required software, ensuring seamless collaboration and assessment.
  • Suitable broadband connection, microphone, headphones, and webcam for remote working and video conferencing.
  • A suitable postal address in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, or Isle of Man for receiving mail and packages.
  • Right to work in the UK, ensuring eligibility for employment.
  • Allow additional time for travel when making EPA arrangements, considering geographical location and accessibility.
