Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our residential care team, you will provide a safe, secure, and supportive environment for young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

Your role will involve working closely with our team to develop and implement high-quality care plans, adhering to Ofsted standards and policies. You will also be responsible for providing one-to-one support, encouraging independence, and promoting positive relationships with the children in your care.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum, plus up to £6,720 in sleep-in payments (average of 6-8 sleep-ins per month at £70 per sleep-in). Other benefits include regular supervisions, company pension, access to wellbeing programmes, comprehensive training programme, and promotion opportunities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and educational development
  • Develop and implement care plans, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate records, including incident reports and progress updates
  • Participate in staff meetings, contributing to the development of care strategies and policies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents

Requirements:

  • Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children & Young People or Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship within 2 years if required
  • Full UK driving license
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and sleep-ins
