Carers Service Manager Role

About the RoleMidland Mencap is seeking an experienced social care professional to lead and manage our Carers Emergency Response Service (CERS). The successful candidate will oversee an established service providing emergency support to carers in crisis situations.
The CERS provides a safety net for carers by offering up to 48 hours of planned or unplanned care, allowing them to take a break or attend important appointments. As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of registration, assessment, and implementation of emergency backup plans, as well as coordinating responses to crises as they arise.
About the Job- Manage and deliver high-quality domiciliary care services that meet the needs of citizens and maintain their dignity and independence.
- Maintain consistency and quality within the service.
- Oversee recruitment and selection of staff within the CERS service.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate plans for sustaining excellence across the CERS service.
- Attend Management Meetings and represent the organisation on partnership forums.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in social care, preferably with experience in crisis management or similar roles.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to vulnerable adults and children's welfare.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
