Head of New Business Development

Shoosmiths is seeking a Head of New Business to drive growth on a more commercial trajectory, working closely with the Business Development & Marketing team and partners to realise the firm's ambition to excel in its chosen markets by 2030.
Main Responsibilities- Play a key role in the BDM leadership team, driving strategy forward successfully with other 'Heads of'.
- Lead and manage a client target pipeline, working closely with partners across Key Pillars and Core Sectors.
- Feed newly acquired clients into the client team and prioritise onboarding solutions for excellent client experience.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless operational efficiency and excellent client experience.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track pursuit progress and success.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on pursuit status, challenges, and achievements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and raise Shoosmiths profile in the market.
- Work closely with the Director on strategic pursuit planning for the business.
- Work closely across divisions to understand how best to promote them in the market.
- Be highly visible in the market, especially in Key Pillars and Core Sectors, and attend new prospect meetings.
- Generate leads and introduce partners to new clients.
- Closing new business.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing their client network, making introductions, targeting new prospects, and generating new business.
Risk and commercial awareness are vital to the role, requiring the ability to manage stakeholders comfortably.
The ideal candidate should be dynamic, comfortable with a wide range of responsibilities, and have a willingness to tackle any situation with a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial outlook.
Experience within connected services and holistic solutions would be advantageous.
