Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) teaching assistant to provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs in a primary school setting.

About the Role

This is a supply opportunity that involves working flexibly across different year groups, building positive relationships with staff and students. You will work closely with teachers, SENDCo, and parents to ensure cohesive support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH needs, adapting to their unique requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement strategies for promoting social, emotional, and academic progress.
  • Promote a calm and inclusive learning environment that enables all pupils to thrive.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably within a school setting. They must be proactive, patient, and resilient, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, is also required.
