About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Laboratory Assistant to join our Quality Control Laboratory team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, managing laboratory operations, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal with customers and health professionals on a first-line contact/response basis.
  • Manage the receipt, logging, and dispatch of samples, documents, and products.
  • Undertake physical, chemical, and microbiological testing and microbiology media preparation.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory procedures and policies.
Requirements
  • Relevant NVQ 2 or equivalent level of relevant work experience.
  • Previous relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including legible handwriting.
  • High level of customer care awareness and good interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
