We are in search of a Fire Safety Coordinator with a background in fire engineering, or a fire engineer eager to expand their skill set by transitioning into a Fire Safety Coordinator role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In the capacity of Fire Safety Coordinator, you will assist in overseeing fire safety management throughout the organization, particularly in implementing various fire safety strategies and ensuring adherence to the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (RRFSO). As the go-to expert, you will offer and apply your technical knowledge and guidance to internal teams as needed.

As a Fire Safety Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

Leadership and Guidance

Serve as the primary contact for technical inquiries related to fire and life safety Ensure adherence to the Fire Safety Strategies within the organization, especially during project and construction phases Assist in achieving compliance with the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (2005), focusing on Part 1, Article 5 and Part 2, Articles 8-23 Participate in conducting Fire Risk Assessments and ensure timely consideration and action on recommendations Stay informed and provide advice on any changes in legal or building regulations to ensure our design standards and operational methods are updated accordingly

Engagement and Influence

Collaborate closely with the Design and Projects teams to ensure fire and life safety considerations are integrated at every relevant stage and that fire safety strategies are effectively implemented Enhance awareness and understanding of fire safety responsibilities among stakeholders, positively influencing team behaviors and improving fire safety management Approach stakeholder interactions with curiosity and a critical mindset to gain deeper insights Foster continuous improvement in fire safety across the organization through initiatives, education, and the execution of identified enhancements Develop comprehensive policies and promote awareness of these policies among relevant parties Communicate technical information in a clear and accessible manner for all audiences

Reporting Duties

Analyze data from both leading and lagging indicators and generate monthly reports for all locations and departments Collaborate with key stakeholders to discuss data analysis findings and their implications on activities – reducing risks, enhancing knowledge, and improving behaviors and performance

Training and Development

Proactively identify training needs and opportunities, supporting the delivery of training to relevant personnel throughout the organization, including fire panel management, alarm response, use of fire-fighting equipment, and emergency procedures

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications / Training:

Preferred - qualification in fire engineering or fire safety management at Degree or Diploma level (or equivalent) Preferred - membership in relevant professional organizations

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of fire safety systems and fire prevention measures Ability to comprehend and apply fire safety standards and guidance documents Expertise in ensuring legal compliance Proficient in MS Office applications
