Fire Safety Consultant needed to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy specializing in the built environment. This role involves tackling a variety of fire safety challenges across multiple building types and sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing comprehensive fire strategy documentation and engaging with stakeholders throughout the design phase.
  • Assisting clients in adhering to pertinent regulations, including the Building Safety Act 2022, relevant secondary legislation, the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended), and the Fire Safety Order (as amended).
  • Performing fire risk assessments and advising on suitable control measures.
  • Collaborating with internal design teams on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Addressing diverse fire safety challenges across a wide range of building types and sectors.
  • Maintaining consistent communication with the client's team to coordinate inspection schedules and necessary remedial actions.
  • Collecting site-specific information, documenting required work schedules, preparing specifications, obtaining cost estimates, planning work timelines, and monitoring on-site progress to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Providing guidance on applications for Building Regulations Approval concerning fire-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in fire safety or fire risk engineering is essential.
  • Membership in the Institution of Fire Engineers is required, with a focus on achieving or progressing towards professional registration with the Engineering Council.
  • Thorough knowledge of current fire safety legislation, including the Building Regulations and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, along with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary fire safety issues, trends, and best practices.
